Broad Lane/Severn Trent Update

We’re making steady progress between Vicarage Hill and the Doctors surgery. The ground conditions have been difficult, and this has slowed progress slightly. Work continues to be carried out under a road closure. The businesses and the Doctors Surgery are open as usual. Please follow the signposted diversion and access these at the end of Broad lane from The Common. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these works. we are pleased to confirm the road closure on Poolhead Lane has been lifted and access to the golf club and along Vicarage Hill is available. All businesses are open as usual. Additional signage will be in place to emphasise the changes to the diversion route . Read More...

Earlswood Anti-Social Behaviour and Traffic Issues survey

The survey was designed to gather residents’ views on incidences of anti-social behaviour and traffic-related issues which the parish council felt had been rising, particularly since the national lockdown of 23rd March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of the survey was to provide the parish council with information which could inform any action that may be taken in response to these issues. The Lakes ASB and Traffic Issues Working Party is currently receiving so much email etc that we haven’t got time to answer it all, otherwise we’d get nothing constructive done. Everyone just needs to know that we’re reading it and adding pertinent bits to our matrix and that we appreciate everyone’s contributions, positive or negative, as it helps us continuously fine tune and clarify the position, so keep them coming and, if we don’t respond, please accept that we’re not trying to be rude or evasive, we’re just busy. Change to Annual Audit dates

Due to the present UK situation there has been changes to the audit times. The publication date for final, audited, accounts for local councils will move from 30 September to 30 November 2020 The requirement for the public inspection period to include the first 10 working days of July has been removed. Instead, local councils must commence the public inspection period on or before the first working day of September 2020 Draft accounts must be approved by 31 August 2020 at the latest or earlier where possible.
