Back to home page Tanworth-In-Arden Parish covers an area extending from the borders of Solihull, across to the M42 junction 3, then down the A435 towards Redditch and from Gorcott Hill, back across to the Stratford Road
near Hockley Heath (map) or (alternate map). It includes the picturesque village of Tanworth-In-Arden, which contains the 800 year old Mary Magdalene Church and the 3 Earlswood Lakes run by British Waterways. The Lakes are popular for walking, fishing and sailing.
You can visit the area by car or train. (Bus services are unfortunately not that regular.) There are several places around Earlswood Lakes for parking. There are train stations at Earlswood, Earlswood Lakes, Wood End & Danzey Green on the Stratford "Shakespeare" Line running from Snow Hill in Birmingham to Stratford-on Avon. The Parish can also be reached by cycle from Redditch, Birmingham and Solihull. There are many quiet lanes around the Parish for cycling. You can even travel by barge - the Earlswood Motor Yacht Club moorings on the Stratford-on-Avon Canal are within walking distance of the Lakes.
